As seen on Wedding Chicks, Sarah and Brendan’s wedding at the Park Hyatt Aviara was a breathtaking celebration nestled in the heart of North County San Diego. This stunning hotel is one of our favorites for its variety of ballrooms, manicured lawns and versatile event spaces. We especially adored their particular ballroom, filled with natural light and accented with charming wooden beams. From the grand, palm tree-lined ceremony to the intricate reception details and Sarah’s stunning gown changes, every moment of their day was full of beauty and heart. Come scroll through and see the magic unfold.

The morning began in their spacious suites at the Park Hyatt. With views overlooking distant ocean waves and swaying palm trees, the setting felt peaceful and serene. Flatlay details featured an elegant invitation suite by Shine and anticipation filled the air as Sarah slipped into her romantic Lihi Hod gown.

Before the ceremony, Sarah and Brendan shared a private first look. Choosing to take most of their photos beforehand allowed them to fully enjoy cocktail hour later. These early moments together in the corners of the hotel’s lush courtyard were so sweet and calm. Their wedding party, dressed in sleek all black attire, added a modern and striking contrast to the natural surroundings.

The ceremony space was absolutely one of our favorite spots on property. Towering palm trees lined the grassy lawn, creating a grand, coastal ambiance. Guests were greeted with tray-passed champagne as they found their seats. Sarah made a dramatic entrance, descending from the top of the stairs to an instrumental version of “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey. Our florist, Angelical Flowers, incorporated a variety of white blooms that looked especially romantic against the vibrant green of the lawn.

Cocktail hour unfolded on the wraparound patio just outside the ballroom. Custom napkins featuring personal illustrations of the couple were a thoughtful touch and an escort card table guided guests to their seats. With tasty appetizers and signature drinks in hand, guests mingled and soaked in the warm evening breeze.

As the sun was setting, the reception room was ready to dazzle guests, and it did! A mix of long and round tables were draped in white linens, with natural wooden chairs surrounding them. White florals and candlelight added softness and warmth, creating a blend of chic, elegant, modern and coastal vibes. A black and white checkered dance floor became the striking centerpiece of the room, setting the stage for a lively evening. One especially meaningful touch was the cake table, which featured wedding photos of the bride and groom’s parents, a beautiful nod to family and legacy.

The reception began with a lively grand entrance and first dance, followed by a delicious dinner. Just when guests thought the surprises were over, Sarah and Brendan brought out a saxophonist who added an energetic and unforgettable element to the already incredible DJ set by DJ Dre Motion. Cake was cut, toasts were shared and memories were made on the dance floor.

Later in the evening, Sarah changed into her second gown and the couple snuck away for a few more portraits throughout the hotel. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy a quiet moment together, sip cocktails and soak it all in before heading back to the dance floor.
